A great find: Pyrite in slate from Lehesten, Thuringia!
Size of the ball 2cm, diameter of the hole 1mm - suitable for jewelry wire, not for leather straps and necklaces!
The historical slate mining in Lehesten in the Thuringian Forest is one of the oldest and largest open pit mines for roofing slate in Europe. Already since the 13th century slate was mined in Lehesten, split and processed into slate boards, roof and wall coverings.
In modern stone medicine, Pyrite in slate is considered the stone of openness. It helps not to take oneself so important and to laugh at oneself sometimes. Negative thoughts can be let go more easily.
Pyrite in slate is also called Apache gold in reference to the places where it was found in the USA. The white bands and areas are mostly quartz, occasionally calcite.
