Size of the plates of Petrified Wood about 20 - 22cm
From Madagascar come these beautiful small tree slices, where the wood structure is well visible - the plates are ideal for example as room decoration or for meditation. Since both sides are smooth, the plate can also be used as a coaster for a water jug.
Place of discovery: Valley of Ankavandra, between Antananarivo in the center of Madagascar and Maintirano on the west coast of the island.
Petrified Wood is also called tree quartz.
The Petrified Wood from which this small slab was cut comes from conifers of the genus Araucaria and is about 230 million years old (period: Triassic).
