The Flat Stones made of star jasper fascinate by the light brown, star-shaped patterns in the dark brown stones. The stones are octagonal and are about 3.0 x 3.7cm in size. Due to the flat shape, the Flat Stones are suitable for many applications, e.g. as a wellness stone, hand charm or pocket stone.

The common name "star jasper" is not correct, because it is a young rhyolite stone. The brown groundmass is quartz and Feldspar, the white inclusions are also Feldspar. So the correct term would be star rhyolite.
Other names by which the mineral is referred to, both wholesale and retail, are Star Oregon Jasper or Star Oregon Jasper and Star Jasper, as well as Flower Jasper and Starburst Jasper.
