Gabbro (low quartz plutonite) is the stone for new beginnings, for overcoming old-established behaviors. Gabbro got its name from the Tuscan village of Gabbro, near which the mineral was first found and described. Occasionally encountered spellings like Gabro, Gappro or Gabbra are therefore not correct. Since the Gabbro occasionally also shows a blue sheen, the mineral is also called Indigogabbro.
