The colorful calcites from Mexico in this flat get their bright colors from various natural admixtures of metals such as iron, kufper, and manganese. The rough stones from the calcite mixture are ideal decorative stones also suitable for gemstone fountains.

One box contains about 4.2kg of Calcite in bright colors.

Also under the names Kalkspath/Kalkspat, Doppelspat, Kalkstein and Seekreide Calcite can be found in the trade. In the vernacular Calcite is also called leg break stone. Of the various possible spellings, e.g. calcite, calcite, calcite or calcide, the spelling calcite, which is most commonly found in the wholesale trade today, has become established.
