Laughing Buddha with worry bag is one of the most popular Buddha figures in Asia.

The shape of the fat and laughing Buddha has been a common symbol of happiness throughout East Asia for over 1000 years. He stands for overcoming the suffering of our earthly existence. Through the friendly image, happiness and lightheartedness should enter our lives. The representation of the laughing Buddha with a large sack points to two legends: First, he is considered the Buddha of prosperity, who carries a richly filled bag with coins and gold bars. Secondly, he is considered the Buddha of happiness, whose greatest joy is to take people's worries and make them disappear into his big bag.

In Feng Shui, the Chinese doctrine of creating harmonious spaces, the laughing Buddha is often placed in the living room, directly opposite the entrance door. Also, he can serve well in the area of prosperity (north-west corner of your apartment, as seen from the entrance).

Size of the rhodonite engraving about 8.0 x 6.7cm.

The first scientific description of Rhodonite was made in 1819 by the German naturalist Christoph Friedrich Jasche. The pink color inspired Jasche to name it "Rhodonite", which is derived from the Greek word "rhodon" meaning rose or rose-scented. Occasional spellings like rhodonite, rodonite or rodonite are therefore not correct.
