The apatite strands are 40cm long and strung for transport. We recommend that you always replace the transport thread with suitable knotting material.

The name apatite is derived from the Greek word "apatáo" for "to deceive" and was coined in 1786 by the German mineralogist Abraham Gottlob Werner (1749 - 1817). Since apatite occurs in numerous different forms and colors, there is a great danger that apatite will be confused with another mineral. Spellings like apartith, apathite, apatite, appatite or apatiet are not correct.

Bright turquoise apatite is also called neon apatite.
