Strand Lenses, disthene extra (stab.), 05-08 x 07-13mm, with gradient

The intense blue Lenses made of disthene (stab.) in extra quality grow larger from both ends of the strand to the center. The smallest Lenses are about 7mm long and 5mm wide, the largest Lenses are about 8 x 13mm. The total length of the disthene strand is about 40cm.

The modern steiin medicine uses disthene to stay able to act in difficult si situations. The stone supports logical-rational thinking and decisive action. Other themes are identity and completion of life's task.

The name Disthen is derived from the Greek "this sthénos" (twofold strength, twofold power). This describes a quite unusual property of disthene: it has - depending on the direction in the crystal - two very strongly differing hardnesses (so-called hardness anisotropy). Spellings such as Distin, Disthin or Disten have not become established in the retail and wholesale trade.
