The elongated cylinders of dark green Prase are about 13mm long and have a diameter of approx.4mm. The total length of the prasem strand is about 40cm.
In stone healing Prase is valued for its balancing effect and is used to calm heated tempers and facilitate conflict resolution.
The name Prase is derived from the Greek word "prasos" for leek. Spellings such as phrasem, prassem or prassen are therefore incorrect. Prase Quartz (Buddstone) is also called leek quartz, budstone, emerald quartz or African jade.
