In gemstone healing, Rhodonite is valued for its balancing, mediating effect. The mineral supports the themes of forgiveness, forgiveness and mutual understanding.
The first scientific description of Rhodonite was made in 1819 by the German naturalist Christoph Friedrich Jasche. The pink color inspired Jasche to name it "Rhodonite," which is derived from the Greek word "rhodon" meaning rose or rose-scented. Occasional spellings like rhodonite, rodonite or rodonite are therefore not correct.
