Nuggets, slivers and free tumbled stone shapes add the natural to your designs. Usually left in their original form, polished or matte, these stone shapes can break up or create interesting contrasts as a whole necklace with geometric stone or precious metal elements.

All strands are approximately 38-40cm long and strung for transport. We recommend that you always replace the transport thread with suitable knotting material.

The Sugilite is found near the village of Hotazel in the manganese ore fields of the Kalahari in South Africa.

The first, very small Sugilite finds were made in 1944 by the Japanese professor Ken-ichi Sugi in the prefecture of Ehime (Japan). A precise description was not made until a good thirty years later by a group of Japanese mineralogists in 1976, who named it after its discoverer, Ken-ichi Sugi. The sometimes encountered spelling Sugelith, Sugulith or Suggilith are therefore not correct. In the trade Sugilite is also called New Age Stone or New Age Stone; a synonym for Sugilite is also Luvulite.
