The strand of Mookaite is 40cm long and strung for transportation. We recommend replacing the transport thread with suitable knotting material.
The mookait balls have a diameter of 16mm.
The name "Mookaite" is derived from the largest locality of the mineral in the Kennedy Range, about 1000km north of the Western Australian capital Perth. Mookaite is mined there along Mooka Creek. "Mooka" means "flowing water" in the Aboriginal language and refers to the numerous springs in the area. Spellings such as Mokaite, Mokaid, Mokaait or Moukait are therefore incorrect. The only synonym for Mookaite at present is Australian Jasper.
