Larvikite is rarely offered as gemstone jewelry, because the mineral has something inconspicuous at first sight. However, the faceting gives the 12mm buttons a very elegant aspect, so that only a few intermediate parts and a chain clasp are necessary for a beautiful necklace.
Larvikite (syenite-monzonite) is used in stone healing when a neutral, sober assessment and approach is required.
The mineral Larvikite takes its name from the city of Larvik in Norway; occasional spellings such as Larvekit, Larvikith, Larvikrit, Lavikrit, Lavikit or Larviekit are therefore incorrect.
