The sunstone strands are approx. 38cm long and strung for transport. We recommend that you always replace the transport thread with suitable knotting material.
The faceted balls have a diameter of approx. 3.5mm.
In gemstone medicine, sunstone is used when a stone with an uplifting effect is needed. Sunstone strengthens an optimistic attitude towards life and directs the view to the sunny sides of life. One's own strengths and abilities are (again) more strongly perceived.
The mineralogical name for sunstone is aventurine Feldspar; the reddish color and the glitter are caused by tiny inclusions of Hematite and other iron oxides. A nowadays obsolete name for sunstone is heliolite or heliotite.
