The roundish chips ("pebbles") of pink tourmaline are about 3-4mm thick and have a diameter of 6-10mm.
The tourmaline measures 40cm in total.
The stone medicine knows the pink tourmaline (rubellite) as a stone with activating effect.
The name Rubellite is derived from the Latin word "rubellus" (red); spellings like rubelite, rubbelite or rubellite are therefore not correct. Since the Urals were the most important locality for Rubellite until the 1920s, the synonym "Siberian Ruby" is still occasionally found in the literature.
