Di real shell pearls are made from the core of oyster shells. The Mother of Pearl of the oysters is ground to a fine powder, enriched with natural dyes and applied to the core (from this very shell) in a very complicated process. Because of this intricate manufacturing process, shell seed pearls are always perfectly round, have a wonderful luster, and are a cost-effective alternative to genuine Tahitian or South Sea pearls. Shell seed pearls are 100% organic and can be treated the same way as real pearls when it comes to care.
All pearl strands are approximately 36 - 40cm long and strung for transport. We recommend that you always replace the transport thread with suitable knotting material.
