Intense red-orange color, but still not an endangered coral species!

This beautiful pendant made of rhodium-plated silver 925 is incl. the eyelet 4.8 x 2.1cm. The oval cabochon is 20 x 18mm, the teardrop shaped cabochon is 18 x 15mm. Total weight about 29ct, set in bezel settings. Inner diameter of the eyelet 4mm.

Frame settings and eyelet are rhodium plated silver 925.

The red fossilized horn coral comes from Rileys Canyon near Kamas in Utah. The corals were formed about 300 million years ago, so they are not endangered coral species living today!

The former coral reefs are nowadays high in the mountains of Utah. Since the coral is no longer mined, it is becoming increasingly difficult to obtain cabochons or coral jewelry with beautiful designs.
