Unique Rhodochrosite pendant with eyelet - suitable for medium chains.
Size of rhodochrosite pendant approx. 6,7 x 1,95 cm, inner diameter of eyelet 5mm.
The bezel setting and the eyelet are made of highly polished platinum coated silver 925; silver weight approx. 4g.
Size of the cabochon approx. 57x17mm, stone weight Rhodochrosite approx. 82ct.
By Friedrich Hausmann (1782-1859) the Rhodochrosite got its name "Rhodochrosite" in 1813, which is still valid today. This is derived from the ancient Greek words "rhodo" (rose) and "chrosite" (color). Spellings like Rhodhocrosite, Rhodochosite, Rhodocrosite, Rodhocrhosite, Rodochrosite or Rodocrosite are therefore not correct. Nowadays obsolete names for the Rhodochrosite are Incaspat/Inkarose, Raspberry spar, Rose spar and Manganese spar.
