The trade name for leopard skin stone is also leopard skin rhyolite. The names poppy jasper and leopardite, which are occasionally found in the wholesale trade, are not correct for leopard skin stone. The equally widespread name Leopard skin jasper or Leopard jasper is misleading because it is a rhyolitic rock and not jasper.
