The flat Smooth Stones are approx. 3.5 - 4.0 cm in size and, due to their small thickness of approx. 1 cm, are very suitable as pocket stones or for stone healing applications.
The purple inclusions of stichtite are found in the olive-green matrix of Serpentine; this is why the mineral is also called stichtite-serpentinite.
Gemstone healing uses the stone to strengthen peace and serenity; it supports the making of decisions and their subsequent implementation.
Purple stichtite in green Serpentine is also called atlantisite, atlantasite or stichtite serpentinite. As the rough for the Flat Stone comes from Tasmania, Tasmanite is another name for the mineral.
Stichtite was first found and described in 1910 on the west coast of Tasmania (Australia) by A.S. Wesley, a chemist working for a mining company. The mineral was named after Robert Carl Sticht (1856 - 1922), the manager of the mine. Spellings such as stichite or stichite are therefore incorrect.
