The drilled freeforms in A-quality are cut from light-colored, mostly transparent amethyst with inclusions and are approx. 3.5 - 4.0 cm in size, the drill hole is approx. 2 mm in size.
Light-colored amethyst is valued in gemstone healing due to its effect of promoting spirituality, clarification and meditation.
The name amethyst is derived from the Greek word amethystos (counteracting intoxication) and refers to the traditional belief that an amethyst protects against the intoxicating effects of wine and other alcohol. Spellings such as Amathyst, Amethist, Ametist, Ametyhst, Ametyst, Amnethyst, Amthyst or Amythist are therefore incorrect.
