These high-quality Lepidolite tumbled stones with a hole impress with their attractive coloring in delicate to strong violet tones and the pleasantly smooth surface. With a size of approx. 3 cm and a hole of 2.5 mm, the stones are ideal for making pendants, leather necklaces or individual pieces of jewelry.

Lepidolite is a lithium-containing mica mineral with a flaky structure. Lepidolite was described in the 18th century by the Jesuit Nicolaus Poda von Neuhaus (1723-1798). He initially called the mineral "Lilalith" (lilac stone). As this name was not considered sufficiently scientific, the mineral was given the name Lepidolite, which is commonly used today, in 1795. The name is derived from the Greek:
lepidion = scaly, lithos = stone. Translated, Lepidolite therefore means "scaly stone".
Spellings such as lepidolite, lepitolite, lepitolite or lepidolite are incorrect. Synonyms are lithion mica, lilathite, hydropolylithionite, lithium mica, rhomic mica.
