The drilled Tumbled Stones made of Rhodochrosite are about 36 - 40cm tall and about 25 - 30cm wide.

Abraham Gottlob Werner (1749-1817) first named the rhodochrosite manganese spar, taking into account the chemical composition and the good fissility. In 1813 Friedrich Hausmann (1782-1859) gave the Rhodochrosite its name "Rhodochrosite" which is still valid today. This is derived from the ancient Greek words "rhodo" (rose) and "chrosite" (color). Spellings like Rhodhocrosite, Rhodochosite, Rhodocrosite, Rodhocrhosite, Rodochrosite or Rodocrosite are therefore not correct. Nowadays obsolete names for the Rhodochrosite are Incaspat/Inkarose, Raspberry spar, Rose spar and Manganese spar.
