Choker part cube 10 mm, diagonally drilled 2.2 mm, Mookaite A
The name "Mookaite" is derived from the largest deposit of the mineral in the Kennedy Range, about 1000 km north of the Western Australian capital Perth. Mookaite is mined there along the Mooka Creek. In the Aboriginal language, "Mooka" means "flowing water" and refers to the numerous springs in the area. Spellings such as Mokaite, Mokaid, Mokaait or Moukait are therefore incorrect. The only synonym for Mookaite is currently Australian jasper.
