With these drilled freeform cabochons made of Pietersite, it is clear why the mineral is also called storm stone: The wild grain is different in every stone - sometimes in different shades of blue, sometimes brown-gold and sometimes mixed!
The drilled Pietersites are approx. 40-45mm in size; the hole has a size of approx. 2mm.
Each stone is unique in shape, pattern, color and size - the pictures show only a few possibilities.
Pietersite is valued in analytical stone healing according to Michael Gienger, as it helps to keep a cool head in confusing situations, to process impressions more quickly and to overcome conflicts, which has also earned the mineral the nickname "storm stone". Changes can be initiated more easily with the help of Pietersite, as unpleasant things can be overcome more easily.
Pietersite was first discovered in 1962 by mineral dealer Sidney "Sid" Pieters in Namibia (then South West Africa); the stone was named after him. The spelling Petersite, Pieterisite or Pietersiet is therefore not correct.
