The Thumb Stones are also known as Worry Stones. This form of hand flatterer is often picked up in stressful situations in order to play around with it and become a little more relaxed.
Thumb Stones owe their name to their use as a massage stone for the thumb. An ideal hand flatterer that can easily be carried in a trouser pocket thanks to its flat shape. Carried in your pocket, it encourages you - even unconsciously - to pick it up.
The name fluorite is derived from the Latin fluere (to flow) and refers to the mining term fluorspar for fluorite. Spellings such as florid, florite, fluoride, fluorite, fluoride or fluride are therefore incorrect.
