An unusual object made of garnet!
For this piece, a garnet crystal was polished and recut - this creates the optical impression of the garnet with its typical angular crystal shape. The diameter of the garnet stone is approx. 3 - 5 cm, the weight is between 100 and 150 g.
Garnet and its effect is already described by Hildegard von Bingen as a stone under the name "carbuncle": "The carbuncle grows during the lunar eclipse and is nevertheless warm. [...] That is why it has its glow from the fire of the sun when the moon rises, and that is why it shines more at night than during the day. So it grows until the glow of the sun gives birth to it." Garnet (Almandine) is also valued in modern gemstone healing; the mineral energizes and activates one's own powers. Use the effect of the mineral e.g. as a meditation object!
