These beautiful serpentine freeforms are approx. 30 - 50mm in size and suitable for many applications. Each Serpentine is unique in its shape and grain.
The freeform Tumbled Stones are supplied with a trilingual (German, English, French) information card about the Serpentine.
The sturdy cardboard box is ideal for presenting and storing the Serpentine. Each of the 54 small freeform boxes is individually labeled with the EAN 4034113052638.
The name "Serpentine" is derived from the Latin word "serpens" (snake). This is presumably due to the similarity with the patterned skin of snakes. In the Middle Ages, it was believed that serpentine could render poison harmless and therefore cups and drinking goblets were made from serpentine. Since the 16th century, Serpentine has also been used in interior decoration, e.g. in Dresden in the Green Vault and in the Court Church.
Light green to white precious Serpentine is also known as China jade.
The origin of the raw material is the province of Liaoning (China). The extra-large jumbo Tumbled Stones are a product of our cutting shop in Haifeng.
