The shape is - just like its big brother, the Large Palmstone - ideal for massage and wellness applications. The Small Palmstones are smaller and slightly more elongated, which is why they can be used for stone applications where only a small area of the body needs to be covered. This shape is also particularly suitable for massages on the face and feet. The self-contained shape of the oval conveys a special sense of calm and harmony.

Dumortierite is also known as the "take it easy stone", as the mineral is often used in gemstone healing when stressful things need to be released. The mineral stands for confidence, courage and relaxation, supports the lightness of being and helps to maintain or regain calm in times of anger, stress and hectic.
Dumortierite was first discovered in 1881 in a quarry in the French department of Rhône; the first scientific description was made by mineralogist M.F. Gonnard. He named the newly discovered mineral in honor of the French paleontologist Eugène Dumortier (1801 - 1876). Occasional spellings such as dumorterite, dumortirite, dumortirite or dumoterite are therefore incorrect.
