Longstones are the ideal form of massage stone if the gemstone massage is to be performed on large muscle groups (e.g. on the leg or back) or on very pronounced muscles (e.g. in athletes).
The freeform longstone can either be held in the hand like a pen and gently guided or closed firmly in the fist if more force is required.

The reddish-brown part of Sardonyx is also known as Sard. Like the mineral itself, the name Sardonyx is made up of the black and white Onyx and the orange-brown Sard; the spelling Sardonix is therefore incorrect.
