The heart - symbol of love - cut from star rhyolite - in these gemstone hearts, the shape combines with the type of stone.
Size of the puffy hearts approx. 4.5 x 4.0 cm.
The common trade name "star jasper" is not correct, as this is a young rhyolite stone. The brown groundmass is quartz and Feldspar, the white inclusions are also Feldspar. The mineralogically correct term is therefore star rhyolite.
Other names by which the mineral is referred to both wholesale and retail are Star Oregon Jasper or Star Oregon Jasper and Star Jasper as well as Flower Jasper and Starburst Jasper and Firework Jasper/Jasper.
