The terms “Calchedon” and “Carchedon” first appear in Pliny the Elder’s Latin work *Naturalis Historia* in the 1st century AD. However, it is not possible to clearly identify which stones were described there based on the descriptions alone. Through “intermediate forms” such as Calcedon, Calzedon, Chalzedon, or Kalcedon, the name evolved into the “chalcedony” commonly used today.
Communication, listening, and understanding are the areas in which Blue Lace Agate is used in modern crystal healing. Blue Lace Agate is therefore also known as the “speaker’s stone.”
