The Russian mines for this popular stone were closed for a long time, so that it was forgotten by many people. Now this intensely green mineral is available again and is experiencing a renaissance in gemstone healing. It is often used to distribute energy evenly and thus to work with concentration and serenity.
This necklace is not knotted and has a 925 silver clasp.
The name Diopside is derived from the Greek word "dis" (double) and "opsis" (to look at) and indicates that Diopside crystals often occur as Gemini.
The mineral was first described in 1800 by José Bonifácio de Andrada e Silva under the name coccolite, but this name is now considered obsolete. The spelling diopsite has also not become established.
