Chalcopyrite rough stones, 03 - 04cm (approx. 6kg/ PU)

This wholesale flat contains approx. 6 kg of chalcopyrite from Mexico. The individual pieces have an attractive size of around 3-4 cm and are ideal for sale as individual pieces, in mineral mixtures or as decorative collector's items at pocket money prices. You will receive around 80 to 120 chalcopyrite stones per box, resulting in an attractive calculation for resale.

Chalcopyrite, also known as variegated copper pyrite or peacock ore, is one of the most popular minerals in the mineral trade. The fascinating iridescent colors from golden yellow to blue to violet are created by natural oxidation and make every piece a real eye-catcher. Especially at mineral markets, flea markets or in crusher baskets in retail stores, these colorful stones immediately attract the attention of customers.

Popular sales mineral for markets and stores - due to its intense color effect, chalcopyrite is particularly suitable for crumble baskets and market stalls, mineral and fossil stores, gift stores, mineral assortments for resellers and museum stores.

The chalcopyrite comes from the province of Zacatecas in central Mexico, a well-known region for attractive copper minerals.

The colorful surfaces are reminiscent of the plumage of a peacock - hence the popular name peacock ore. The name chalcopyrite is derived from the Greek:
chalkos = Copper and pyrites = flint or Pyrite. The mineral is originally brass-yellow, but develops the typical iridescent colors through oxidation processes.

Important note on the name
Chalcopyrite is occasionally incorrectly referred to as Pyrite Agate or Apache gold. Mineralogically correct, however, it is chalcopyrite (copper-iron sulphide).
