Handcrafted gemstone engraving from Peru with numerous details, showing a colorful hummingbird hovering over a flower.
The bird engraving is made from Sodalite and Chrysocolla as well as red-brown Jasper (brown), Serpentine and Rhodonite; the base stone is Stalagtite.
Size of the gemstone engraving approx. 15cm, stone weight approx. 1550ct.
In Peruvian mythology, the hummingbird symbolizes love, joy and beauty. It is also associated with life and immortality. In some traditions, hummingbirds are regarded as the souls of the deceased who return to be with their loved ones.
In addition, the hummingbird is often seen as a symbol of the ability to move quickly and gracefully, making it a symbol of freedom and the ability to rise above obstacles. In Inca culture, the hummingbird is also associated with the sun god and the rain god, which reinforces its importance in relation to fertility and harvest.
