This gemstone strand is approx. 85 cm long and strung for transportation. We recommend always replacing the transport thread with suitable knotting material.
The small chips of light, turquoise-colored apatite are approx. 1-3mm thick and have a diameter of approx. 3-8mm.
In keeping with its name, apatite is used in gemstone healing to overcome inertia and apathy. Independence and determination are strengthened by the mineral.
The name apatite is derived from the Greek word "apatáo" for "to deceive" and was coined in 1786 by the German mineralogist Abraham Gottlob Werner (1749 - 1817). Since apatite localities in numerous different forms and colors, there is a great danger that apatite will be confused with another mineral. Spellings such as apartite, apathite, apatite, appatite or apatiet are incorrect.
