String Beads, Onyx (dyed), grooved faceted, 08mm (35cm)

The faceted beads made of black Onyx (dyed) are 8mm in size.

Furrowed Onyx is also known as reticulated agate.

These strands are approx. 35cm long and are strung together for transportation. We recommend replacing the transport thread of the onyx strand with suitable knotting material.

The name Onyx is derived from the Greek word "onyx" for "nail"; presumably this name, which has been in use for many centuries, refers to the surface of the polished stone, which is reminiscent of shiny fingernails. Spellings such as onix or onyk are therefore incorrect.
