The slices of black Onyx (dyed) are approx. 10mm in size and approx. 3-4mm thick.
All strands are 40cm long and strung together for transportation. We recommend replacing the transport thread of the onyx strand with suitable knotting material.
The name Onyx is derived from the Greek word "onyx" for "nail"; presumably this name, which has been in use for many centuries, refers to the surface of the polished stone, which is reminiscent of shiny fingernails. Spellings such as onix or onyk are therefore incorrect.
