The individual elements of this chrysocolla strand are approx. 9-12mm long and approx. 6-8mm thick. The elongated shapes have four to six sides and a variety of different dark turquoise colors.

The effect of chrysocolla is valued in gemstone healing when a cool head needs to be kept in stressful situations.
The name "chrysocolla" is derived from the Greek words chrysos (gold) and kolla (glue). The translation "gold glue" refers to the ancient use of the mineral in goldsmithing and granulation. The occasional spellings chrisocolla,
chroysocolla, chrysochol, crysocolla, krysokol or crysocolla are therefore incorrect. Synonyms for chrysocolla are chrysocolla, siliceous copper, siliceous malachite, copper silica, copper green or mountain green.
