An unusual new find: Rhodonite from the Changping District of Beijing in China.
Typical for the vividly patterned gemstone are the intense color, dark grey dendrites of iron and manganese oxides as well as yellow-orange parts of Spessartine. Other components of the mineral may include Mangano Calcite, pyroxene and amphibole.
Diameter of the polished spheres approx. 8mm, length of the chain strand approx. 39cm.
The gemstone is called Jing Fen Cui at its localities. JingFenCui is the trade name for Rhodonite jade from the Changping district in Beijing, China. It is a manganese skarn deposit formed by metasomatosis of Granite aplite and Cambrian limestone.
