Pearls—The Classics of Jewelry Design
Pearls are suitable for both classic, elegant designs and fashionable combinations with gemstones and silver or gold components. Thin strands of pearls are also ideal for multi-strand necklaces and bracelets.
There are enormous differences in quality, especially among freshwater cultured pearls (SWZ). Pearls of similar size can vary in price by several hundred percent due to differences in luster (surface sheen) and surface texture. Our consistently high-quality pearls will enhance your jewelry!
Chili Creative freshwater cultured pearls combine several advantages: interesting, unique shapes; solid pearls without artificial cores; and high quality at an extremely affordable price.
All stringed beads are approximately 36–40 cm long and strung for shipping. We recommend always replacing the shipping thread with suitable knotting material.

Freshwater Cultured Pearls from China—Origin and Harvesting
Our freshwater cultured pearls come from China, one of the world’s most important sources of cultured pearls. They are cultivated in the freshwater mussel Hyriopsis cumingii, which belongs to the family of river and pond mussels (Unionidae) and is native to the rivers and lakes of central and southern China.
The pearls come from controlled aquaculture in natural lakes and artificially created ponds. Key regions for pearl cultivation include the Chinese provinces of Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Jiangxi, Anhui, Hunan, and Hubei.
After harvesting, the freshwater cultured pearls are carefully sorted by size, shape, color, and surface quality and strung into pearl strands.
