The pietersite beads are faceted and have a diameter of 2.0 - 2.5mm; the entire pietersite strand is around 40cm long.
Pietersite, also known as "storm stone", is a mixture of the minerals Tiger's Eye and Falcon's Eye.
Gemstone healing uses the mineral to support change and to process impressions more quickly and overcome conflicts in stormy, turbulent times.
Pietersite was first discovered in 1962 by mineral dealer Sidney "Sid" Pieters in Namibia (then South West Africa); the stone is named after him. The spelling Petersite, Pieterisite
or Pietersiet is therefore not correct.
