Vesuvianite or Idocras?
Vesuvianite is also known by the names Idokras, Idocras, and Jewreinowite. The mineralogist Abraham Gottlob Werner (1749–1817) described the mineral and named it after its then-known locality of discovery on Mount Vesuvius in Italy. The spellings “Vesufian” and “Vezuvian,” which are occasionally used, are incorrect.
