The flat nuggets in cloud shape made of Sardonyx have a size of ca.30-35 x20-28mm and a polished surface. The whole gemstone strand is about 40cm long.

The reddish brown part of Sardonyx is also called Sard. The name Sardonyx, like the mineral itself, is composed of the black and white Onyx and the orange-brown Sard; therefore, the spelling Sardonix is not correct.
