Button strand, tourmaline (rubellite), 2.5-5.0 x 3.5-6.0mm (gradient)

The buttons in this tourmaline strand of pink-red rubellite get bigger and bigger from the two ends of the strand towards the middle (so-called "gradient"). The smallest buttons are approx. 2.5mm thick and 3.5mm in diameter, the largest are 5.0 x 6.0mm in the middle. In total, the tourmaline strand has a length of approx. 40cm.

Rubellite is used in gemstone healing to strengthen vitality and sociability. The pink tourmaline supports the emphatic dedication to an activity kit, a project or plan.

The name rubellite is derived from the Latin word "rubellus" (red); spellings such as rubelite, rubbelite or rubellite are therefore incorrect. As the Urals were the most important locality for rubellite until the 1920s, the synonym "Siberian Ruby" is still occasionally found in the literature.
