The buttons made of fluorite opal have a diameter of approx. 6mm at both ends of the chain strand and 12mm in the middle (gradient).

Well-known synonyms for the purple fluroite opal are Tiffany stone, purple passion and purple opal.

Gemstone healing uses the Tiffany Stone to promote playful freedom, lightness and gentleness; the gemstone strengthens intuition and presence in the here and now, encourages inventiveness and breaks down prejudices.

The Tiffany Stone consists mainly of opalized fluorite and was discovered in the early 1970s. The basic color is purple with yellow-brown and black beryllium veins, the beige-brown parts consist of jasper.

The purple stone got its name from Todd Harris, the foreman of the Brush Wellman mine - the best-known site where fluorite opal is found. He recognized the potential of the beautifully marked stone and was of the opinion that very few people would remember "Bertrandite", the mineralogical name of the Tiffany Stone. After pondering for a while, he christened the stone "Tiffany Stone" - an elegant, easy-to-remember name in his opinion.

The now-closed Brush Wellman mine is located in western Utah/USA and beryl minerals were extracted from it for industrial purposes. A second site for fluorite opal is now known nearby, the Spore Mountain Lavender Mines.
