Black Spinel is important in gemstone healing when discipline, structure in thinking and consistency in action are to be supported.
The chips of this stringed beads of black Spinel are approx. 2-5mm thick and have a diameter of approx. 5-10mm. Due to the small size of the chips, a gemstone necklace can be produced that can be worn inconspicuously and comfortably by both men and women in everyday life if the effect of Spinel is desired in difficult situations.
The entire Spinel strand is 40 cm long.
There are two theories for the origin of the name Spinel: Spinel is either derived from the Greek "spin(n)os" (to sparkle) or from the Latin "spinella" (small thorn). Various spellings of the mineral have been used in Europe since the 16th century, e.g. Spynell, Spinella and Spinellus. Today the spelling Spinel is common, occasionally also Spinnell can be found.
