The finely ground salt is suitable e.g. as Salt for Cooking and for salt shakers.
The salt comes from the famous Salt Range in the north-east of Pakistan (Punjab province), which is around 160 km from Islamabad and 260 km from Lahore. The salt mines around Kehwra are located in a foothill of the Himalayas, but are not directly associated with the Himalayan massif. Alexander salt is therefore also known commercially as "Himalayan salt" or "Himalayan salt".
Importers in Switzerland must have an import permit for the Halite (salt) from Vereinigte Schweizerische Rheinsalinen.
