A very elegant boutique necklace featuring a stunning color contrast between black Spinel and colorful Ammolite!
The faceted black Spinel beads are strung on steel wire; a colorful, iridescent Ammolite forms the centerpiece of the Spinel necklace. Various shapes and colors of Ammolite are possible; however, you will always receive an Ammolite of the same quality as the one shown in the necklace pictured.
Length of the designer necklace: approx. 44 cm plus a 6 cm extension chain made of rhodiniertes 925 Silber; Silver weight: approx. 2.9 g.
Size of the freeform Ammolite: approx. 11 x 7 mm; weight of the Ammolite: 3.7 ct. Size of the faceted Spinels: approx. 4 mm; total weight of the Spinels: 57.95 ct.
Locality of the ammolite: St. Mary River near Lethbridge in southwestern Alberta (Canada).
Formation period: Cretaceous Period
Ammolite is the trade name for the gem-quality variety of a colorful, iridescent fossilized shell of two ammonites: Placenticeras meeki and Placenticeras intercalare. The gemstone consists of extremely fine aragonite platelets that produce the colorful hues through the interference of light.
To protect the delicate surface of the Ammolite, it has been sealed with acrylic.
