The double dorje (vajra) is an important symbol of Buddhism. In Indian tradition, the dorje stands for the supreme power of the divine Indra. Tibetan Buddhist schools interpret it as a symbol of great compassion, the strongest force in the universe, and associate it with the power of the masculine. According to the Buddhist view, the dorje symbolizes the unbreakable qualities of diamonds, the indestructible power of a thunderbolt and the inseparable clarity of space. It symbolizes the indivisible power of enlightenment.
